GRIMM GRIMM BEHOLD A PALE HORSE
We spoke at length with Japanese-born, London-based artist Grimm Grimm (aka Koichi Yamanoha) after the release of his most recent album Ginormous last year (read TMR Talks To...Grimm Grimm here). Returning yesterday with news of a new instrumental EP due to arrive on Cafe Oto's record label some time in the near future, its preview 'Behold A Pale Horse' provides some much-needed escapism from the current claustrophobic climate. Stripped back and pure, you can feel the intimacy of Yamanoha's fingers making contact with the acrylic strings of a classical guitar, reminding us of the imperfect beauty of human interaction, whilst modulated synth lines levitate like UFOs overhead. Listen to 'Behold A Pale Horse' here now and drift away with its all its calming qualities. -Holly Mullineaux
